MOTIVATION

Motivation, a big word to find meaning.

Well! Some people say that "MOTIVATION" means "DESIRE TO DO THINGS".
Do you think, this is the right meaning of motivation?

If you search GOOGLE, they give us two meaning to this "awesome" word.
  • the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way
  • the general desire or willingness of someone to do something.
And other websites give different meaning for this word. I mentioned some of them below,

According to psychologytoday.com,
  • Motivation is literally the desire to do things. It's the difference between waking up before dawn to pound the pavement and lazing around the house all day.

According to businessdictionary.com,
  • Internal and external factors that stimulate desire and energy in people to be continually interested and committed to a job, role or subject, or to make an effort to attain a goal.
According to merriam-webster.com,
  • the act or process of giving someone a reason for doing something.
And this website, mindtools.com, wrote an awesome article on self-motivation, and they even mentioned some steps to take to get yourself self-motivated.

  • Think about the achievements in your life.
  • Examine your strengths to understand what you can build on.
  • Determine what other people see as your strengths and key capabilities.
  • Set achievable goals for yourself, work to achieve them and enjoy that achievement.
  • Seek out mentors and other people who model the competencies, skills, and attributes you desire.

and according to me,

MOTIVATION is having all the courage to follow what your gut feeling says.
MOTIVATION to me is something, which has the power to take you towards your goal.
MOTIVATION to me is something, which makes you feel, YES, YOU CAN.
MOTIVATION to me is just like a superpower, which can let us do the things in life, we can't even imagine, that we can do.
